This is the first official swimming location in the Centrum district, with a lot of attention to bathing water quality and urban ecological water quality. The Binnenhaven on the Marineterrein in Amsterdam has been a popular swimming spot among Amsterdammers for years. In recent years, we have regularly measured the quality of the bathing water here, and it is and remains good. The soil has been thoroughly checked and the gaps and gaps between the quay walls and the bottom have been filled. As a result, the province of North Holland has designated the Binnenhaven as the first official swimming location in the Centrum district.

Dobbernatuur is an ongoing exposition and research project of floating gardens in the inner harbor of the Marineterrein. To improve aquatic nature, water quality, and swim safety.
We formed a special collaboration to realize the 'Willoasis' project here. The Willoasis team includes the Waterkaravaan, #ThatWeirdPLantGuy, Waterbaten and the WillowCrew. Willoasis consists of five different floating gardens made of canal wood, various underwater gardens, a variety of marsh and bank plants including willows, and perhaps the first ever floating willow dome on it.
This project was an interesting test case for the Waterkaravaan, because it was the first time we worked with canal wood modules.
